Occasionally a client has a special image they want painted, or want a painting of mine, but need a different size. Here are some commissioned paintings I have done, usually one or two a year, depending on the complexity.
Tour de Mont Blanc 18 x 12 in. My son and his partner hiked the 100 mile Tour in September of 2024. She offered me a million dollars to paint this Swiss refuge they stayed at, and so I did.
Montrose Gardens (Hillsborough) 34 x 42 in. This friend/client spent time at the Gardens and was friends with the head gardener. I painted this view from two photographs she had taken.
Montrose Gardens study - 10 x 10 in. I did a preliminary study to make sure I felt comfortable painting the foliage and combining the two photos.
Autumn light 24 x 58 in. These clients liked a painting of the field by our house, but it was too small for the space they had in mind. I made some changes to the image the second time around, resulting in a much stronger painting.
View from CR-18 24 x 36 in. This landscape is near Fairplay, CO where my step-son lives. So, not really a commission, more a gift for his empty walls.
Springtime in the field 20 x 30 in. I was working on this painting during the Studio Tour, and a couple asked if they could buy it when it was done. They make some suggestions in keeping with their vision for the finished work, and I was able to deliver what they had envisioned.
Blue Ridge Vista 27 x 36 in. This was my first commission from a special couple. This place and view held deep emotional significance to them.
